Trump Announces Deal With Putin to Supply Russian Diesel

Donald Trump announced a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It would supply millions of tons of Russian diesel worldwide.

Trump's schedule starts with more than 300,000 tons immediately. Then 500,000 tons would ship in November.

Another 1 million tons would follow after that. The final 3 million tons depend on refinery conditions.

The news came during Miami meetings about ending the war in Ukraine. UPI reported the United States Treasury eased sanctions at the same time.

Public Broadcasting Service called the deal an attempt to lower fuel prices. Zelensky said the deal was needed to cut American fuel prices.

He called it a gift to Putin and an investment in war. He added the war must end rather than be prolonged.

The Guardian said the deal was set to create a fresh crisis. The crisis would affect Ukraine and NATO allies.

The Associated Press said the deal reverses an American ban. The American ban stopped Russian oil imports after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Klear Note — Diesel powers trucks and machinery, so supply changes can affect fuel costs.
