Donald Trump announced a deal for Hamas to disarm. Israel would also withdraw its forces from Gaza.

Hamas agreed to disarm as part of the plan. But its agreement comes with conditions.

Hamas said it will only follow through if Israel honors past ceasefire promises. A Hamas official said weapons would be stored not destroyed.

Israel had earlier demanded full disarmament as a condition. An Israeli official reportedly rejected key parts of the plan hours before Trump's announcement.

Trump spoke at a Cabinet meeting at Camp David after announcing the deal. Israel has not yet officially responded to the plan.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has stayed publicly silent since Trump's announcement on Thursday. Israeli far-right ministers are urging Netanyahu to reject the proposal.

One minister said the only solution is encouraging emigration and destroying Hamas. Far-right minister Orit Strouk has also strongly rejected the agreement.

Netanyahu has not commented on the deal or the pressure from his coalition partners. The disarmament process is expected to take between 200 and 250 days moving through Gaza one area at a time.
