Trump Calls FIFA to Lift US Player Ban

Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino and asked him to review a ban. The ban was on US striker Folarin Balogun.

Balogun got a red card during a World Cup match. FIFA then lifted his one-match ban.

Balogun can now play for the US against Belgium on Monday. The New York Times says this is the first time since 1962 that FIFA has cancelled a red card ban during a World Cup. Belgium has objected to FIFA's decision.

Klear Note Red cards in soccer mean a player is sent off and banned from the next game. FIFA rarely overturns these bans during World Cup tournaments.
