Trump Launches $1,000 Investment Accounts for Children

President Trump rang the opening bell from the White House on Monday. The event marked the first trading day for Trump accounts.

These are government accounts giving children born from 2025 to 2028 a $1,000 investment fund. Trump hosted leaders from the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq at the White House.

They held a press event to mark the launch. The accounts are also called 530A accounts.

They work like retirement savings accounts and are managed by Bank of New York Mellon. Money is invested in low-cost US stock funds.

Families can add up to $5,000 each year. Critics say the accounts do little to help young children.

They also warn the accounts may widen the gap between rich and poor families. Wealthier families who add the most money will benefit most.

Klear Note 529A accounts let families save money for kids' future. Money grows tax-free when used for education or other approved expenses.
