Trump Orders Navy Blockade of Hormuz Strait
Trump announced the US Navy will blockade the Strait of Hormuz. The blockade targets ships entering or leaving the strait.
The blockade follows peace talks with Iran that did not succeed. Talks happened in Islamabad, Pakistan on Saturday.
The US will stop every ship that paid Iran a toll to pass through. Trump said oil prices will eventually fall when the war ends. Some experts say the blockade may make oil and fuel shortages worse globally.
Klear Note — The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. About one-third of world's oil passes through it daily. A blockade could disrupt global oil supplies and raise prices worldwide.
