President Trump is pressing Ukrainian President Zelenskyy on an energy truce. The truce would stop attacks on energy infrastructure in Russia and Ukraine.

Trump and Zelenskyy were due to discuss the plan. Zelenskyy said Ukraine would stop its strikes if Russia does too.

His offer depends on Russia also halting attacks. Russia and Ukraine traded fresh strikes on energy sites overnight.

This happened while talks about the truce were ongoing. Russia's attack included missiles and more than 200 drones.

Trump has focused on Ukrainian strikes against Russian oil refineries. He also mentioned Russian diesel infrastructure.

Trump said these attacks are causing global fuel shortages. He said they are also raising fuel prices.

Trump said Russia has lost control of its diesel oil industry. He said this happened because of the ongoing war.
