Trump Promises Medicare Rebate Checks for US Seniors

President Donald Trump promised $90 checks to seniors on Medicare on Friday. The checks would go out in October.

Trump said 20 million senior citizens would get them. The money is meant to lower Medicare Part B premiums.

The one-time payments would come from the Medicare Improvement Fund. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says 20.8 million people qualify.

They must be in Original Medicare Part B in the US. People getting Medicaid help with premiums are excluded.

People who pay an income-related extra charge are also excluded. Most people should get the money by direct deposit.

Others will get checks in the mail. Trump announced the plan before the November 3 midterm elections.

Klear Note — Medicare Part B helps pay for doctor visits and outpatient care. Most people pay a monthly premium for this coverage.
