President Trump announced a deal for Hamas to fully disarm in Gaza. Hamas official Ghazi Hamad told Reuters that Hamas will hand over weapons.

He said the weapons will go to a group set up by Trump's Board of Peace. Other Hamas officials told the news agency AFP they reached a deal.

They said it includes Israeli troops leaving Gaza. A senior Hamas official also told BBC News the group agreed to disarm.

But Hamas said it will only disarm after Israel meets earlier ceasefire promises. Israel has not officially confirmed the disarmament deal.

Israel had asked for full disarmament before any troop withdrawal. Reports say Israel shared concerns about parts of the deal.

The disarmament process could take between 200 and 250 days, reports say. Police weapons would reportedly be handled first.

Heavy weapons would be removed later. Neither Hamas nor Israel has fully confirmed Trump's version of the agreement.
