Trump Says He Will Report NBC Journalist to FCC

President Trump wants NBC journalist Kristen Welker punished. He announced on Truth Social he will report her to the FCC.

The FCC is the US agency that oversees broadcasting. Trump's move follows Welker's comments about his primary election record.

Welker said Trump's record endorsing candidates had mixed results. Trump called her description a purposeful inaccuracy.

Welker made the comment during a live NBC broadcast in Washington. It aired before her show Meet the Press.

NBC says it stands by Welker. Reports say Trump cited a 98% success rate in House primaries.

He also claims a 100% success rate in Senate primaries. But six candidates he endorsed recently lost their primaries.

Anna Gomez is a Democrat on the FCC. She said on X on Sunday that the FCC cannot punish journalists. She added the agency has no authority to do so.

Klear Note — The FCC oversees US broadcasting, but it cannot punish journalists for reporting.
