Trump Says Iran Deal Sunday; Iran Disagrees

Trump said a deal to end the war with Iran will be signed on Sunday. But Iranian leaders directly denied this.

Iran's Foreign Ministry said the deal would not be signed Sunday. They said it could be finished in the "coming days." Tehran said the timing is still unclear.

Iran signaled more time is needed. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the US and Iran are closer to a deal than ever before.

He said the deal could be finished within 24 hours. Pakistan is preparing for an electronic signing ceremony.

US officials said the deal would destroy Iran's enriched uranium over time. It would also reopen the Strait of Hormuz right away.

A deal would extend the ceasefire and lead to a longer truce. Support for a deal is growing. But the two sides still disagree on when it will be signed.

Klear Note Iran and the US have had tense relations for decades. The Strait of Hormuz is a key shipping route for global oil. Enriched uranium can be used to make nuclear weapons.
