President Trump said Karoline Leavitt will leave her job as White House press secretary. She will leave at the end of August.
Trump said she wants more time with her family. She has two young children.
Trump said Leavitt would become one of his top outside advisors. He said she would be an influential voice in the Republican Party.
This will happen during the 2026 midterm elections. Leavitt recently returned from maternity leave.
She gave birth to her second child Viviana in May 2026. She said the press secretary job made it hard to be the mother her children deserve.
