The United States and Iran signed a ceasefire last month. That ceasefire has now ended.

This week the two countries exchanged attacks for several days straight. These attacks put too much strain on the deal.

Trump first said the ceasefire was over on Wednesday. He said this during a NATO meeting in Ankara, Turkey.

NATO is a group of countries that support each other militarily. He repeated the same message on Friday.

Also on Friday Trump said Iran had asked to keep talking. He said the US agreed to continue those talks.

So diplomatic talks are still happening. This is true even though the ceasefire itself has ended.
