Trump Sues Harvard Over Antisemitism Claims
The Trump administration has sued Harvard University in the United States. The lawsuit says Harvard broke the civil rights of Jewish and Israeli people.
This followed the war in Gaza. The lawsuit also says Harvard let anti-Israel protesters act freely on campus.
The Justice Department may freeze Harvard's government grants. It could also ask for repayment of grants already paid.
The administration spent months looking into Harvard before filing. The two sides had tried to reach a settlement before the lawsuit.
Klear Note — The Gaza war started in October 2023 after Hamas attacked Israel. Many US college campuses saw protests about the conflict. The Trump administration is using civil rights law to hold universities accountable for campus speech.
