Trump Targets Seven Indiana Republicans in State Primaries
President Trump wants to remove seven Republicans from Indiana's state Senate. These senators voted against redrawing Indiana's political map last year.
The map change was meant to flip two Democratic seats in Congress. This would have helped Republicans gain more control in the House.
Trump supported the plan but the senators helped block it. Now Trump and his allies are working to defeat them in Tuesday's primaries.
Ad spending in the seven races has reached nearly $11.8 million. That is a large jump from under $500,000 spent on Indiana Senate races in all of 2024.
Klear Note — Primaries are elections where parties pick their candidates. Redistricting redraws voting districts to change election outcomes. Indiana state senators represent districts in the state legislature.
