Trump Team Talks With AI Company Anthropic
Anthropic boss Dario Amodei visited the White House on Friday. He met with top leaders including chief of staff Susie Wiles.
They discussed Mythos Preview, a new AI security tool made by Anthropic. After the meeting, the Trump team is now thinking about lifting its ban on Anthropic.
But Trump said he had no idea the meeting happened. Less than two months ago, Trump banned Anthropic's AI system called Claude.
The White House and the Pentagon said Anthropic was a risk to national security. All government agencies were told to stop using Anthropic's products.
Anthropic is now suing the Pentagon over the ban. The company also faces lawsuits over whether it is a national security threat.
Klear Note — Anthropic makes AI software that businesses and governments use. AI bans happen when leaders worry about national security risks.
