President Trump said the United States would hit Iran very hard. This followed an Iran attack on US troops in Jordan.

Iran used ballistic missiles in the attack. Military leaders confirmed all missiles were stopped before hitting anything.

No injuries or damage were reported. Trump is now considering military action against Iran.

He had earlier rejected plans to escalate the conflict. Trump met Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House before the attack.

Hours later the United States and Saudi Arabia bombed Iran-backed fighters in Iraq. Those strikes reportedly killed at least 20 fighters.

The attack broke a pause in fighting. Trump had halted heavy bombing the previous Friday.

A US-owned ship was also hit in a port in Egypt. More countries are now being pulled into the conflict.

Oil prices jumped to about $84.56 per barrel after Trump's threat. That is a rise of 6.5% showing investor worry about the conflict.
