Trump to Attend Rescheduled Correspondents' Dinner July 24
President Trump will attend and speak at a rescheduled dinner on July 24. The original dinner in April was interrupted by a gunman.
The gunman tried to force his way through a security checkpoint. Prosecutors say he was trying to kill Trump.
Trump was evacuated and the dinner was postponed. The new event will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue.
This hotel was once Trump's own hotel. Trump announced the new date on Truth Social.
The event will be smaller than the original dinner. Members who paid for April tickets will not need to pay again. Security will be stronger at the new event.
Klear Note — The White House Correspondents' Dinner is an annual event where journalists meet with government leaders. It happens every year in Washington, DC.
