Trump's Justice Department moved to dismiss a criminal case against Steve Bannon. Bannon was a former White House strategist during Trump's first term.

He was convicted of contempt of Congress in 2023. Contempt of Congress means he refused to testify before the House committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack.

Bannon already served a four-month prison sentence in 2024. He served this time for these same charges.
