UK PM Travels to Gulf After US-Iran Ceasefire
The US and Iran reached a two-week ceasefire agreement on Tuesday evening. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to the Gulf on Wednesday.
He will meet Gulf leaders to support the ceasefire. The UK has promised to help keep the ceasefire going. Starmer will also discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Klear Note — The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. About one-third of world's oil passes through it. Tensions there affect global energy prices and trade.
