UK Power Cut Forces CrossCountry to Cancel Most Trains
CrossCountry cancelled almost all of its UK rail services. This happened after a power cut in Birmingham, England.
The power cut hit the company's control center on Sunday. Most services stayed cancelled until further notice.
Affected routes included Glasgow to Edinburgh, Manchester to Birmingham, Cheltenham to Cardiff, and Newcastle to Edinburgh. Customers called the disruption a worst-case scenario.
The UK transport secretary asked other train companies for help. She asked publicly owned operators to add extra services. This was meant to help passengers during the disruption.
