Ukraine Defense Minister Fedorov Leaves in Cabinet Reshuffle
Mykhailo Fedorov said Wednesday he is leaving Ukraine's Defense Ministry. He led the growth of drone weapons during Russia's war.
His exit is part of President Zelensky's larger cabinet reshuffle. Fedorov had clashed with generals and military contractors.
The conflict was about the role of new robot and drone weapons. Reports say the main clash was with military chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Fedorov's exit came after Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko resigned Tuesday. Her resignation caused removal of the whole cabinet.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko is reportedly likely to replace Fedorov. Fedorov's exit has caused public criticism of Zelensky reports say.
In a farewell message Fedorov listed more than 20 achievements. These reportedly included cutting Russian access to the Starlink internet system.
He also cited a logistics campaign in Crimea. Fedorov had served as Defense Minister since January 2026.
