Russia said its air defenses shot down 354 drones overnight. The regional governor told residents to stay indoors.
This was the first such order since the war began in 2022. The attack happened during the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum. The forum is a major Russian business event sometimes called Russia's Davos.
Klear Note — Saint Petersburg is Russia's second-largest city and major naval hub. Ukraine and Russia have been at war since 2022. The Economic Forum is Russia's biggest annual business event.
