Ukraine Leader Sets Peace Talk Conditions
Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Zelenskiy is Ukraine's president.
He said he is open to elections if a ceasefire is reached. Zelenskiy said elections can only happen two months after a ceasefire starts. He also said the United States must guarantee security before any peace agreement is made.
Klear Note — Ukraine and Russia have been at war since 2022. A ceasefire would pause fighting between the two countries. Security guarantees mean the US promises to help protect Ukraine.
