Ukraine Strikes St. Petersburg Twice in One Week
Ukraine launched a drone attack on St.
Petersburg in Russia on Saturday. It was the second such attack in less than a week.
The attack happened on the final day of a major economic forum. The forum is President Putin's yearly investment event.
It draws around 20,000 guests from 130 countries. Over 140 drones were brought down during the Saturday attack.
No deaths or major damage were reported right away. But Pulkovo Airport stopped flights and dozens were delayed.
The first attack came on Wednesday June 3. That was the forum's opening day.
It hit an oil terminal and a naval warship at Kronstadt. That attack got significant attention around the world.
Klear Note — St. Petersburg is Russia's second-largest city on the Baltic Sea. Ukraine and Russia have been at war since 2022. Drone attacks on Russian cities have become more frequent.
