US Air Force Colonel Reveals Prayer During Iran Survival Ordeal

A US Air Force colonel prayed during a survival ordeal. His fighter jet was shot down over Iran in April.

He shared the story in a CBS "60 Minutes" interview. The colonel served as a weapons-systems officer on an F-15E jet.

CBS calls him by the callsign "Bravo". He was one of two officers aboard the jet.

He recalled free-falling after the plane was hit. He parachuted into Iran at 70-100 mph.

The fall left him with three broken bones. Fox News says he evaded enemy forces for about 50 hours.

CBS reported he had injuries to his back, arm and shoulder. It said he survived for 48 hours. The two officers were rescued separately.
