US Commerce Secretary Questioned in Epstein Probe

Howard Lutnick is the US Commerce Secretary under President Trump. On Wednesday he answered questions from the House Oversight Committee.

The questions were about his links to Jeffrey Epstein. It was a private interview and was not recorded on video.

Lutnick is the first Trump cabinet member to face such questions. In February he told a Senate committee that he and his family visited Epstein's private island in 2012.

The island is in the US Virgin Islands. In March he agreed to take part in the interview.

This came after the Justice Department released millions of Epstein-related documents. Lutnick has said he did nothing wrong. The committee has also scheduled former Attorney General Pam Bondi and others for similar interviews in coming weeks.
