US Ends School Transgender Protection Agreements
The US Education Department ended agreements with schools. These agreements required schools to protect transgender students from unfair treatment.
Four school districts and two California schools lost their agreements. The department will continue reviewing sex discrimination at other schools.
Klear Note — Title IX is a law that bans sex discrimination in schools. The Education Department enforces it by investigating complaints and making deals with schools to fix problems.
