US Energy Secretary Says Iran Nuclear Deal May Fail
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright spoke on Sunday morning. He said a nuclear deal with Iran may not happen.
The deal would have stopped Iran from having nuclear weapons. Wright said a deal could wait until Iran's next government.
He added that the US remains open to diplomacy. His comments came as talks appeared stalled.
The US-Israel war on Iran also continued. Iran warned it would retaliate faster and harder against US attacks.
This warning followed US strikes on three Iranian oil tankers. Those strikes came after Iran fired missiles at two US Navy ships.
Iran also said the war was hurting its economy. Iran said sanctions were adding to the damage. Diplomatic efforts had stalled after a June ceasefire fell apart.
Klear Note — Sanctions are economic penalties used to pressure a country’s government.
