Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow, Russia. Witkoff is President Trump's special envoy.

Kushner is Trump's son-in-law. They brought a Ukraine peace proposal.

The goal is reviving talks to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They plan to hold talks with Russia first.

Then they will travel to Kyiv, Ukraine on Sunday. This will be their first Kyiv visit since Trump's reelection.

Russia and Ukraine announced a pause in air strikes during the visit. Russia also announced a separate 72-hour pause in strikes.

Putin also ordered a pause in strikes in Kyiv. Zelenskyy asked for a halt to air attacks during the visit.

But Russia has not publicly responded to that request. Peace talks had stalled since mid-February.

This was after the Iran war began. Russia had also increased attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
