US Judge Blocks DOJ Demand for Georgia Election Worker Data
A US judge has blocked a Justice Department demand for data on election workers. The workers are in Fulton County in the US state of Georgia.
The demand was linked to the 2020 US election. Judge William Ray II said it was too late to bring criminal charges.
The Justice Department got the demand approved by a grand jury in April. It sought names, addresses and phone numbers of thousands of election workers.
Fulton County said the demand was meant to target and punish political opponents. The Justice Department says it is looking at ways to challenge the ruling.
