US Judge Denies Bail to Tate Brothers
A Miami judge has denied bail to Andrew and Tristan Tate. The brothers are dual citizens of the United States and United Kingdom.
They are fighting extradition to the United Kingdom on dozens of sex crime charges. Extradition means sending someone to another country to face charges there.
The brothers have been jailed in Florida since July 18 2026. They will stay in jail while the extradition case continues.
Judge Lauren Louis said their wealth and frequent international travel make them flight risks. She also said they failed to show they were not a danger to the public.
Prosecutors told the court the brothers boasted about having multiple passports. They also boasted about flying on private jets.
The brothers' lawyers argued they were only playing roles for fans online. Andrew and Tristan Tate deny the allegations.
They say their online personas were characters not their real personalities. The next step is a federal hearing on the extradition rules. Any decision to extradite them can still be challenged.
