US Judge Orders Kennedy Center to Drop Trump's Name

A US judge ruled the Kennedy Center board went too far. The board had voted to add Trump's name to the building.

Judge Christopher Cooper said only Congress can change the Kennedy Center's name. His ruling was 94 pages long.

The judge ordered Trump's name removed from all signs by June 12. Indoor and outdoor signs must both be changed.

The Kennedy Center told staff to remove Trump's name from all documents right away. The judge also blocked a plan to close the building for two years of work starting in July.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum declined to commit to removing the name. He said an appeal was possible.
