US Pan Am Bombing Trial Delayed Again After New Evidence

A US judge postponed the trial of a Libyan man. This is the third delay in the case.

New evidence came to light three days ago. The judge cited this evidence as the reason.

Abu Agila Mas'ud Kheir Al-Marimi is a former Libyan intelligence official. He is charged with building the bomb.

The bomb destroyed Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988. The plane exploded over Scotland.

The bombing killed 259 people aboard the plane. It also killed 11 people on the ground.

In total 270 people died. Reports say defense attorneys are reviewing the new evidence. Al-Marimi denies involvement in the bombing.

Klear Note — The case dates back 37 years, so new evidence affects long-running proceedings.
