US Strikes Iran as Regional Attacks Escalate
The United States launched airstrikes against Iran early Wednesday. The US blamed Iran for the crash of an American military helicopter.
The helicopter went down after hitting an Iranian drone near the Strait of Hormuz. Both crew members were rescued without injury.
Iran then fired at countries in the region. Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan all came under Iranian fire.
Iran had warned it would strike back against any attack. Hours after those strikes Trump posted on Truth Social.
He said Iran was taking too long to agree to a deal. He warned Iran would have to pay the price.
Trump had also promised more attacks on Iran this week. Wednesday was the second exchange of strikes that week.
Iran and Israel had also struck each other on Monday. Earlier this week Trump said a peace deal was close. But the escalation now threatened to derail those efforts.
