Carroll is a writer. The court gave no explanation for its decision.
This keeps a $5 million judgment against Trump in place. A New York jury found Trump liable in 2023.
The jury said Trump sexually abused and defamed Carroll. Trump has already paid Carroll over $5 million.
He denies any wrongdoing. Trump also faces a separate $83.3 million defamation judgment.
