US Supreme Court Lets Trump Resume Deportations For Now

The US Supreme Court let Trump resume deportations. Migrants would be sent to countries other than their own.

This is temporary while the Court decides if the policy is legal. The ruling blocks safeguards requiring notice to deportees.

Deportees would normally learn where they are being sent. They could also raise concerns about facing persecution there.

The ruling pauses a February 2026 lower-court order. That order required meaningful notice and a chance to object.

Three justices disagreed with the ruling. The administration said a lower-court order led to canceling a deportation flight.

About 70 people were on that flight. The Court will hear arguments in December 2026. The case is about whether the deportation policy is legal.

Klear Note — Third-country deportation means sending someone to a country other than their own.
