US Supreme Court Narrows Marijuana Gun Ban
The US Supreme Court ruled 9 to 0 on a gun law. The court said the government cannot ban all marijuana users from owning guns.
The court found the law breaks the Second Amendment. It also found the law was too vague to be valid.
Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the ruling. He said the ruling is narrow.
It does not cover banning people who are high while holding a gun. The case started in Texas.
FBI agents searched a man's home and found a gun, marijuana and cocaine. He had also admitted to using marijuana.
The Trump administration had defended the law in court. So the 9 to 0 loss was a setback for Trump.
The same law was used to prosecute Hunter Biden. Biden was convicted under that law before the court narrowed it.
