White House Blocks CNN from Trump's Tennessee Trip
The White House blocked CNN from traveling with President Trump. CNN could not join his Saturday trip to Tennessee.
Trump was attending a college football game there. The block removed CNN from its television press-pool duties.
CNN said Friday it was scheduled to cover the trip. CNN was covering Trump for major television networks.
A court order Thursday restored White House access for CNN. Two other news outlets also got their access restored.
Trump had banned all three outlets the previous week. The banned outlets were CNN, MS NOW and Politico.
The court order restored reporters' White House credentials. But it did not address Air Force One access.
It also did not address TV pool assignments. So the flight exclusion may not violate the order.
The television press pool rotates coverage among networks. Networks share this pooled reporting with each other.
