White House Denies Iran Hormuz Deal Report
Iran's state media reported a draft deal on the Strait of Hormuz. Under the reported deal Iran would reopen the strait.
In return the United States would lift its naval blockade. The White House called the report a "complete fabrication." Oil prices fell after the report came out.
President Trump will host his 12th cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Talks on ending the nearly three-month war with Iran are at a key stage.
Klear Note — The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. About one-third of world's oil passes through it. Blocking it affects global oil prices and trade.
