Winter Storm Hits US and Canada
A winter storm is sweeping across north-eastern US states. It is also hitting south-eastern Canada.
Heavy snow and freezing rain are hitting Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland in Canada. The storm dumped heavy snow around the Upper Midwest.
The same system created thunderstorms in the South. Mid-Atlantic states now face heavy rain and possible tornadoes.
A low pressure area formed in north-western US late last week. It grew stronger as it moved north-east through central US states.
Klear Note — Winter storms in March are common in the US and Canada. Low pressure systems move northeast and bring different weather to each region.
