Woman Dies After Bridge Jump With No Safety Rope
A 21-year-old woman died during a rope jumping activity in Brazil. Her name was Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas.
Two instructors threw her from a 40-metre-high bridge on Saturday. She had no safety equipment attached.
The bridge is called Ponte do Esqueleto. It is an abandoned bridge in Limeira, Brazil.
Witnesses shouted warnings before the jump. They said the safety rope had not been attached.
Brazilian Military Police launched a criminal investigation. The two operators were held for questioning. She has since been buried in São Paulo state, Brazil.
