Xi Jinping Visits North Korea After Seven Years
China's leader Xi Jinping has arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea. It is his first visit in seven years.
His plane landed at Pyongyang's Sunan airport. North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un welcomed him on arrival.
The two-day trip aims to rebuild ties between the two countries. Relations had grown strained as North Korea moved closer to Russia.
Both China and North Korea also face separate disputes with the United States. This gives both countries reason to strengthen their alliance.
